Upon completion of her orthodontic residency, Dr. Periago also received her master’s degree in Oral Biology with her research emphasis on 3D cone-beam radiography in orthodontics. Dr. Periago is proud to be a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Indiana Dental Association.

New Albany braces

There are few orthodontic tools available that can match the efficiency and effectiveness of traditional braces. With this treatment method, ceramic or metal brackets are attached to your teeth. They’re then connected by wires and tiny elastics or rubber bands. Regular adjustments with Dr. Periago will help these components apply gentle pressure to your teeth to gradually move them into their new and improved positions.

New Albany braces are an excellent choice for correcting a number of tooth issues, both simple and complex. Traditional braces sometimes work faster at closing gaps and aligning teeth than other options might, and this can reduce overall treatment time. In addition, braces don’t require some of the more complicated technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can. This makes New Albany braces a cost-effective orthodontic option for patients on a budget.

New Albany clear aligners

Our clear aligners in New Albany use a series of transparent, removable plastic trays to gradually move the teeth into alignment instead of brackets and bands. Made popular by Invisalign®, clear aligners are loved by both patients and orthodontists making it the top alternative to traditional braces.

Constructed out of comfortable plastic material, our New Albany clear aligners will fit securely over your teeth. The trays are virtually invisible, so no one will have to know you’re straightening your teeth unless you want them to. The trays are virtually invisible and are usually switched out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series to keep the teeth moving in the right direction! Aligners must be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment in order for them to do their job. If you don’t wear your aligners as directed you might negatively impact your results, and make your orthodontic treatment process longer.

Clear aligners are most successful when used to correct many of the most common orthodontic issues. For certain complex cases, Clear aligners may not be a very good option. A free consultation with Periago Orthodontics will be able to help determine your eligibility for clear aligners.
